According to a statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the region were discussed in the context of the newly announced ceasefire involving the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mohammed reiterated Qatar’s welcome of the ceasefire announcement and stressed the urgent need to build on it to prevent further escalation in the region.

Starmer reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and highlighted the need to turn the ceasefire into a lasting agreement ensuring security and stability in the region.
