Albares: The crisis in Sudan is one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises
Madrid, April 15 (Hibya) – Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares drew attention to the humanitarian crisis as the conflict in Sudan enters its third year.
Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, made a statement regarding the latest situation in Sudan.
Albares said: “Three years have passed since the beginning of the conflict in Sudan, and today we are facing one of the worst humanitarian crises on the planet.”
Calling for a ceasefire, Albares said: “A ceasefire must be achieved, civilians must be protected, and international humanitarian law must be respected.”
Referring to Spain’s position on the issue, Albares stated: “Spain will continue to contribute to easing the suffering of the Sudanese people and to the search for a lasting political solution.”
