Asian stock markets trade mixed
Istanbul, August 5 (Hibya) – Asian equity markets showed a mixed performance, with South Korean and Japanese stocks leading the gains. Indian and Thai indices, meanwhile, edged lower.
Asian stock markets traded mixed. South Korea's KOSPI delivered the strongest performance in the region, rising 4.44% to 6,641.46 points, while Japan's Nikkei 225 gained 3.39% to reach 66,123 points.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.74% to 9,213.70 points, Malaysia's KLCI advanced 0.91% to 1,748.44 points, and Indonesia's IDX Composite gained 0.63% to reach 6,359.37 points.
The FTSE China 50 index, representing China, increased by 0.35%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index posted a limited gain of 0.04%.
In contrast, India's Nifty 50 slipped 0.01% and Thailand's SET index declined 0.10%. Sri Lanka's CSE All-Share index remained broadly unchanged.
