Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 30 civilians were killed and dozens more injured following Russia's attack on the capital, Kyiv, on July 2.

After the attack, Ukrainian photojournalist Ivan Antypenko, who was working in the area, was invited into one of the destroyed homes. The homeowner, Tetiana, told him that her son's body was inside, saying: "You may go in and look, but my son Roma is lying there. He is dead. He is no longer breathing."

In its assessment following the attack, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that targeting civilians is unacceptable and called on the international community to act. The statement said: "Continuing this war is an attack on human life, and impunity must come to an end."

Officials said search-and-rescue operations and damage assessment efforts are continuing in the affected area.
