IDF: Israeli citizens prevented from crossing into Syria
Jerusalem, July 9 (Hibya) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a group of Israeli citizens attempting to cross into Syrian territory through the Mount Hermon area was stopped, detained, and handed over to the police.
According to the IDF, during the night a group of Israeli citizens arrived in the Mount Hermon area in an attempt to cross into Syrian territory. IDF forces operating in the area prevented the crossing and detained the individuals.
The detainees were transferred to the Israel Police for further legal proceedings. The IDF strongly condemned the incident, which follows similar events in recent days, stressing that such actions constitute an offense that endangers civilians.
The IDF stated that incidents of this kind disrupt its operational activities and undermine security in the area, while diverting commanders and soldiers from carrying out their missions.
