Kos: Belgium is a strict but fair and constructive partner in the EU enlargement process
Brussels, March 31 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos emphasized during her meeting with Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot that merit should be the basis in candidate countries’ accession processes.
EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos made a statement regarding her high-level meeting with Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot and the enlargement strategy.
Highlighting Belgium’s role in the enlargement policy, Kos said, "Belgium is a strict but fair and constructive partner in the EU enlargement process. Therefore, it was great to exchange views today with Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot."
Providing details about the meeting, Kos stated, "We discussed progress in candidate countries and the key challenges ahead, and reaffirmed that a credible, merit-based process is essential."
