Lahbib: Humanitarian aid must reach those in need without obstruction
Brussels, May 27 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the EU’s new humanitarian approach is based on strengthening aid access, protecting civilians, and providing greater support to local partners.
European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Lahbib introduced the EU’s new humanitarian approach. Lahbib stated that access to aid should not be obstructed and that international humanitarian law would be upheld under all circumstances.
Lahbib said that the new approach is built on three priorities: “protection, efficiency, and partnership,” emphasizing the need for better protection of humanitarian workers and civilians, as well as greater support for local humanitarian partners.
