Lahbib: The EU must play a decisive role in ending this conflict in the Middle East
Brussels, March 16 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib emphasized that the European Union (EU) should take an active role in ending the conflict within the framework of International Humanitarian Law.
European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made statements regarding the rising tensions in the Middle East. Lahbib said, “In the Middle East, as everywhere else, International Humanitarian Law (IHL) continues to be our guiding principle. Impunity must end.”
The Commissioner also stated that the EU should assume a decisive role in ending the conflict, saying, “The EU must play a decisive role in ending this conflict. If the conflict escalates, it will be among those most affected by its consequences.” The statements highlight the European Union’s diplomatic and crisis management responsibility in the Middle East.
