Leyen: Continuing negotiations is crucial for a lasting solution
Brussels, April 8 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreed between the United States and Iran and thanked Pakistan for its mediation role.
Ursula von der Leyen made a statement on reducing tensions in the region following the ceasefire agreement reached last night.
She said: “I welcome the two-week ceasefire agreed between the United States and Iran. This brings much-needed de-escalation.”
She thanked all those who contributed to the process, especially Pakistan for its mediation.
She emphasized: “Now, continuing negotiations is crucial for a lasting solution to this conflict.”
She concluded: “We will continue coordinating with our partners in this regard.”
