Mixed trend in Asian markets
Istanbul, May 15 (Hibya) - Asian stock markets showed a mixed performance during the week’s trading session. While Japanese and Hong Kong indices declined, limited gains were recorded in Indian and Chinese markets.
Asian stock markets displayed a mixed trend at midday.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index fell by 1.65 percent to 61,622.01 points. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 index traded at 8,639.10 points with a 0.02 percent loss.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index dropped by 0.87 percent to 26,160.03 points, while in China, the Shanghai Composite Index rose by 0.12 percent to 4,183.056 points.
In India, the NIFTY 50 index climbed by 0.50 percent to 23,806.95 points.
Global economic developments, geopolitical risks, and investors’ expectations regarding central banks continue to influence market pricing.
