Netanyahu: We will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons
Tel Aviv, May 24 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and negotiations concerning Iran’s nuclear program.
Netanyahu stated that he thanked Trump for his support for Israel’s security and said that the strategic partnership between the United States and Israel had grown stronger. According to the statement, the parties agreed that any possible final agreement with Iran must completely eliminate the nuclear threat.
Netanyahu argued that Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities should be dismantled and enriched nuclear material removed from the country. He also stated that Trump supports Israel’s right to defend itself on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Emphasizing that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons, Netanyahu said, “My policy, like President Trump’s policy, has not changed; Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”
