Pakistan announced that it welcomes Kuwait's ratification of the Pakistan-Kuwait Defense Cooperation Agreement.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the agreement, signed in June 2023, marks an important step in the long-standing defense partnership between the two countries.

Andrabi noted that defense relations between Pakistan and Kuwait date back to the early 1980s, adding that the agreement reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen defense cooperation.

He said the agreement provides a comprehensive institutional framework covering military training, education, joint exercises, exchanges of expertise, and other mutually agreed areas of cooperation.

Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the agreement will strengthen institutional ties between the armed forces of the two countries and further reinforce the long-standing defense relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait.

The statement added that Pakistan and Kuwait will continue to work closely to implement the provisions of the agreement, and that the defense partnership, based on mutual trust and shared interests, will contribute to regional peace, security, and stability.
