Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir emphasizes dialogue during Iran visit
Islamabad, 24 May (Hibya) - It was reported that Asim Munir’s engagements in Iran showed progress toward regional stability and dialogue.
Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir held a series of meetings with senior Iranian officials over the past 24 hours during his official visit to Iran.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit was “short but highly productive” and formed part of a mediation process aimed at reducing regional tensions.
Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and the foreign and interior ministers.
The discussions focused on strengthening regional peace and stability, accelerating consultation processes, and reaching a comprehensive settlement.
The Iranian side expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s contribution to the dialogue process, and both sides agreed on resolving regional issues through peaceful means.
Iranian officials also emphasized sensitivities regarding national sovereignty and security and reiterated their strong stance against any foreign interference.
Following the meetings, Munir departed Tehran after completing his engagements.
