Radev: There is a major opportunity to expose high-level political corruption
Sofia, July 29 (Hibya) – Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that testimony from employees of Burgas Water and Sewerage Company (ViK-Burgas) presents a significant opportunity to uncover major political corruption in the country.
Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Radev argued that the prosecution had delayed the investigation process and that the case had been hindered by being transferred between different prosecutor's offices. Stressing that the judiciary must act independently, Radev called for professional and ethical criteria to be the basis for the election of the new Supreme Judicial Council.
Radev also stated that the government would continue its efforts to resolve the legal issues concerning Lukoil and accelerate the National Children's Hospital project.
