Saar: Nauru to open embassy in Jerusalem
Jerusalem, September 7 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar received Nauru’s Vice President and Foreign Minister Lionel Aingimea. Sa’ar announced that Nauru will become the ninth country to open an embassy in Jerusalem tomorrow.
Israeli Foreign Minister Sa’ar made a statement regarding his meeting with Nauru’s Vice President and Foreign Minister Lionel Aingimea.
In a post on his social media account, Sa’ar described Aingimea as his "friend" and said he was pleased to host him. Sa’ar said Nauru will become the ninth country to open an embassy in Jerusalem on September 8.
Sa’ar said Nauru supports Israel on international platforms as a "true friend" and added that various issues aimed at deepening and strengthening relations between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.
Sa’ar also said he would continue working to advance international recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
