US President Trump said in remarks about Ukrainian President Zelensky that Ukraine needs a new leader in order to reach an agreement with Russia.

Speaking about Zelensky, Trump said, “Do you know what I suggest? I suggest that they elect a new leader who can make a deal. Because he could have made many deals, but for some reason he never does. I think it is time for Ukraine to have a new president.”

Trump also addressed attacks on oil refineries in Russia, saying Zelensky had been warned not to target refineries. Trump argued that such attacks create problems globally, claimed that Ukraine was targeting diesel fuel facilities and said the attacks should stop.

Regarding the possibility of the United States joining Saudi Arabia’s attacks against the Houthis, Trump said they would evaluate the issue, that he had only just learned of the latest attack and that a decision would be made shortly.

The US president also responded to a question on whether he would accept the results of the midterm elections, saying he would accept them provided there was no election fraud.

Trump was reported to have departed for the state of Tennessee and was expected to make remarks in the city of Clarksville.
