Trump: The United Kingdom has enormous potential
Washington, July 19 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the United Kingdom's energy policies and statements made at the prime ministerial level, said that the North Sea oil reserves should be fully opened for development.
U.S. President Donald Trump pointed to the enthusiasm of residents in Aberdeen, Scotland, over new Prime Minister Andy Burnham's decision on oil. Trump argued that the region's oil potential could make the United Kingdom one of the richest countries in the world.
Highlighting the economic importance of North Sea oil, Trump said: "These oil reserves, among the world's largest sources of high-quality oil, have the capacity to be used for hundreds more years, and with a vast portion still undiscovered, they will transform the United Kingdom from an impoverished disaster into one of the richest countries in the world!"
Criticizing current energy trade and the region's wind turbines, Trump said: "Britain pays Norway billions of dollars every year for oil from a less valuable part of the North Sea—how ridiculous is that! It is also said that the old windmills overshadowing and making Aberdeen look unattractive will be removed. It will be a great day for the country and will be greatly appreciated by everyone."
Referring to the United Kingdom's potential, Trump stated: "The United Kingdom has enormous potential, but everything begins with opening up North Sea oil. We love you, Scotland."
