New York, May 23 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for compliance with international law rules regarding the protection of civilians in conflicts.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized the need to implement international humanitarian law in his statement on conflicts.
Guterres stated that parties to conflicts must always distinguish between civilians and combatants.
He said that attacks against civilians and civilian targets are prohibited and that international law must not be violated.
In his statement, Guterres called for “not ignoring law and humanity.”
