European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that European countries will continue supporting efforts to combat the wildfires that are still affecting France and Spain.

In a post on social media, von der Leyen said the fires continue to cause extensive damage in the affected regions and stressed that European solidarity knows no limits.

She stated that Romania and Greece had decided to extend their support missions to the wildfire-affected areas, while Poland will join the operations starting on Saturday.

The President of the European Commission thanked the firefighting teams for their courage and dedication.
