Yesilgöz: NATO Iraq mission to continue from Europe
Amsterdam, March 20 (Hibya) - Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yesilgöz-Zegerius announced that NATO’s mission in Iraq has been relocated to Europe for security reasons and that Dutch personnel have returned to the country.
Dutch Defense Minister Yesilgöz-Zegerius stated that due to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, NATO has decided to continue its mission in Iraq by relocating all personnel to Europe.
Referring to the evacuation of Dutch personnel, Yesilgöz said: “All soldiers and civilian experts have left Iraq and are returning to the Netherlands.”
Providing information on the new structure of the mission, Yesilgöz said: “The mission will be continued with limited capacity from NATO’s Joint Force Command in Naples.”
