Zelensky: Ihor Klymenko will be the new secretary of the National Security and Defense Council
Kyiv, August 3 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ihor Klymenko will be appointed as the new secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine's foreign policy priorities would be reshaped. Zelensky said the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) would convene in a special format this week to assess the implementation of resilience plans prepared for regions and local communities.
Zelensky stated that, following the assessment, specific tasks would be assigned to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, and other diplomatic missions. He also announced that Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko would become the new secretary of the NSDC.
Zelensky said Klymenko was suitable for the position due to his experience in coordinating the security sector and his work to strengthen the country's resilience, adding that the NSDC would contribute more closely to the government's efforts in this area.
