Anand: We are strengthening economic partnerships
Ottawa, May 2 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated in her remarks on economic policies that they are focusing on diversifying trade, increasing foreign direct investment, and building strong economic partnerships.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand made statements on the country’s foreign policy and economic approach at a meeting held at the C.D. Howe Institute.
Anand said that diversifying trade, increasing foreign direct investment, and creating resilient economic partnerships are priorities in Canada’s foreign policy.
She noted that these efforts are aligned with the 2026 Spring Economic Statement and that an investment of 6 billion dollars in skilled labor is planned within this framework.
It was also reported that a sovereign wealth fund is planned to attract long-term investments and to support infrastructure and development projects across the country.
Anand thanked the C.D. Howe Institute for hosting the meeting.
