Attacks reported to continue between Russia and Ukraine despite ceasefire
Istanbul, April 12 (Hibya) – It has been reported that despite the Easter ceasefire declared by Russia and Ukraine, the parties continue to issue statements about mutual attacks.
It has been reported that despite the Orthodox Easter ceasefire declared between Russia and Ukraine, clashes on the ground are continuing.
According to CCTV, during the ceasefire process announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which began on April 11 at 16:00 and was set to last until midnight on April 12, both sides made mutual statements. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to take symmetrical steps if Russia adheres to the ceasefire.
Despite the ceasefire decision, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that military sites, energy facilities, and transportation infrastructure in Ukraine had been targeted. It was also reported that 259 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff reported numerous clashes along the front line and stated that areas with concentrations of Russian troops and equipment had been targeted. The Ukrainian side also reported that more than 2,000 Russian drones had been downed.
The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council also reported that Ukrainian forces targeted an oil depot and a pumping station on Russian territory.
