Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez referred to the history of brotherly relations with the African continent.

Referring to the shared past and struggle, Bermudez said, “At the main Africa Day event at the Palace of the Revolution, we reaffirmed our brotherhood with the mother continent. History, blood, and the common struggle against colonialism and racism unite us.”

Bermudez also thanked the African diplomatic mission, saying, “We thank Ambassador Rosalie Kama-Niamayoua and the group of African ambassadors for their solidarity, for condemning the blockade, and for demanding an end to this suffocating policy against our people.”

Bermudez concluded his statement with the words: “We are the children of Africa. We will not give up.”
