Dar meets Chinese Ambassador to Islamabad Jiang Zaidong
Islamabad, August 14 (Hibya) - Pakistan Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with China's Ambassador to Islamabad Jiang Zaidong. The meeting addressed the repatriation of the body of a Chinese mountaineer who died in an avalanche in Pakistan, as well as regional developments.
Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that China's Ambassador to Islamabad Jiang Zaidong met with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar.
During the meeting, Dar expressed condolences over the death of the Chinese mountaineer who died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan. Dar said Pakistan would provide the necessary facilitation for the repatriation of the deceased's body.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked Pakistan for the prompt assistance and support provided following the incident.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments and matters of mutual interest to both countries.
Jiang Zaidong congratulated the people and leadership of Pakistan on Independence Day and reaffirmed the closeness of relations and the longstanding ties between the two countries.
