According to CCTV, thousands of people have been evacuated due to intensifying wildfires in Canada's British Columbia province, while agricultural and livestock activities in the region are also being negatively affected by the fires.

The provincial government declared a state of emergency on August 8 as the fires intensified. The Bald Range fire west of Summerland, first reported on August 7, expanded rapidly, leading to road closures and large-scale evacuations.

Visibility is reported to be low in areas affected by the fires, some roads have been closed to traffic, and nearby communities have been placed on standby for possible evacuations. A large number of aircraft are also supporting firefighting efforts.

More than 12,000 people were reported to be at the evacuation center in Penticton and the surrounding area. Farmers who brought their animals with them are among those evacuated.

Livestock farmers in the region are reported to be struggling to move their animals to safe areas during evacuations. An evacuated local resident named Gregory said there was no space left in available shelters for his animals and that he had been forced to stay in a park with his goats.

According to officials from the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture, 269 registered agricultural properties in the province remain under threat from wildfires. Approximately 50,000 animals have been affected by the fires.

British Columbia Premier David Eby said the fires were spreading extremely quickly and that tens of thousands of people had been evacuated within a short period. Eby said emergency response procedures, particularly evacuation planning and the distribution of supplies, were being reorganized.

However, some evacuated residents say long-running insurance problems are making the resettlement process more difficult.

Evacuee Nicole Haddow said many people without fire insurance had lost their homes and other assets, adding that her mother was also among those without insurance.
