European Council President Antonio Costa made a statement regarding the accident that occurred this morning in the Belgian city of Buggenhout, where a train collided with a school bus.

Expressing his sorrow over the accident, Costa said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic collision between a train and a school bus that occurred this morning in the Belgian city of Buggenhout.”

Stating that he shares the pain of the victims’ loved ones and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured, President Costa said, “My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. I wish all those injured a swift recovery.”
