Global futures index contracts started the new trading day on a weaker note. Futures on the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq declined, while oil prices continued to rise. Meanwhile, the yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury remained broadly unchanged.

According to the data, Dow Jones futures fell by 37 points to 52,406, marking a 0.07% decline. S&P 500 futures dropped 11.75 points to 7,534, down 0.16%.

Technology-heavy Nasdaq futures fell by 157 points to 29,159, recording the steepest loss of the major indices with a 0.54% decline.

In the commodities market, oil prices continued their upward trend. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 1.11% to $85.28 per barrel.

In the bond market, the yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury note remained steady at 4.628%.

Analysts say the elevated bond yields reflect investors' cautious stance regarding monetary policy and the inflation outlook.
