United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that the international community must continue supporting Syria as the country moves forward with its recovery process.

Highlighting Syria's historical and civilizational significance, Guterres said, "I have long admired Syria's rich history and its extraordinary contribution to world civilization."

Noting that the Syrian people have endured difficult conditions for many years, Guterres stated, "The Syrian people have shown extraordinary resilience through years of hardship. They should not have to bear the burden of recovery alone."

Emphasizing the importance of international solidarity, the UN Secretary-General called on the international community to "match their determination with sustained support and assistance."
