Guterres: Working with people like these has been the greatest privilege of my life
New York, June 12 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his appreciation and gratitude to UN personnel engaged in humanitarian assistance efforts around the world.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted the sacrifices made by staff members who play an active role on the ground during global crises and reminded the public of the responsibility undertaken by the organization.
Referring to the global mission of the United Nations, Guterres said, "The United Nations makes a promise that when bombs fall, floods rise, or children have nothing to eat, someone will reach out a helping hand. Keeping that promise requires a special kind of person; someone ready to risk everything for others."
Guterres stated that it has been an honor to work with personnel serving in the field, concluding his message with the words: "Working with people like these has been the greatest privilege of my life."
