Iran: We will not back down on the ceasefire issue in Lebanon
Tehran, June 20 (Hibya) - Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated in his assessment of the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States that the ceasefire issue in Lebanon is a “red line” for Tehran and that there will be no retreat on the matter.
According to CCTV, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, reiterated Iran’s position regarding the clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in an interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Tehran.
The report stated that after more than three months of conflict, a 14-point memorandum of understanding was signed between Iran and the United States, providing for the cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and the launch of a 60-day negotiation process between the two countries.
It was also noted that the memorandum of understanding was signed electronically by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and U.S. President Donald Trump.
