EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos noted that a peaceful solution in the Transnistria region is of central importance for the stability of the Republic of Moldova and southern Ukraine.

Kos stated that Russia’s attempt to destabilize the region by using energy as a weapon has failed and added that this situation demonstrates the growing resilience of the Republic of Moldova.

Kos said: “I assured Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri that the European Union’s support for ensuring Moldova’s territorial integrity as a future EU member state will continue.”
