Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made assessments regarding crisis management and societal preparedness.

Referring to the process by which crises trigger one another through the example of Fukushima, Lahbib said: "Fukushima is the most defining example of cascading crises: an earthquake triggered a tsunami, which in turn triggered a nuclear crisis, leading to mass displacement and environmental, economic, and long-term societal consequences; these effects are still being felt in Japan today."

Stating that Europe is not independent of these risks, Lahbib said: "Europe is not immune to such cascading crisis risks either. Building a genuine culture of preparedness requires large-scale and cross-sector coordination."

Lahbib concluded by emphasizing the importance of societal participation, saying: "It also requires the population to be prepared."
