Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced that he has submitted a new bill aimed at supporting small businesses.

Lula said that under the bill sent to Congress, the maximum turnover threshold for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be gradually increased, reaching 140,000 reais by 2028. He also stated that the proposal provides for businesses to employ a maximum of two workers.

Lula said, “This is a measure that corrects a historic delay, strengthens small businesses, encourages job creation, and provides better conditions for millions of Brazilians to continue growing with security and dignity.”
