Luxon: Our economic management plan is delivering results
Wellington, November 5 (Hibya) – New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon argued that newly released economic data showed the government's economic policies were delivering results. Referring to reports by 1News and the NZ Herald, Luxon noted that the budget deficit announced by the Treasury was more than $1 billion below previous forecasts, stating, "The government's financial statements are in better shape than expected."
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon argued that newly released economic data showed the government's economic policies were delivering results.
Commenting on economic developments, Luxon said, "This positive news shows that National's plan is working and that three years of responsible economic management are delivering results." He claimed that exports remained strong, the manufacturing sector was growing rapidly, and economic growth was outpacing that of countries such as Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Luxon argued that if the government continued implementing its economic plan, New Zealanders could expect a stronger economy, lower debt, more jobs and higher wages. The prime minister also stated that no new taxes would be introduced. He claimed that a Labour-led coalition, with Chloe Swarbrick as finance minister, would result in more borrowing and higher taxes, and called on voters to support the National Party.
