Doha, July 21 (Hibya) - Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran's renewed attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as the targeting of the Kuwaiti tanker Kaifan while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran's renewed attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as the targeting of the Kuwaiti tanker Kaifan while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the ministry said the attacks constituted a "clear violation" of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries and posed a serious threat to maritime security and global energy supplies. It added that the attacks were contrary to international law, the United Nations Charter and the principles of good neighbourliness.
Qatar warned that the continued attacks could further escalate tensions in the region and undermine political and diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring security and stability.
Doha called for the immediate cessation of all military actions threatening regional security and urged all parties to avoid steps that would escalate tensions, return to dialogue and negotiations, and adhere to diplomatic understandings.
The statement also stressed Qatar's full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait and affirmed its support for any measures those countries may take to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
