Qatar condemns Israel's attack on Syria
Doha, August 18 (Hibya) - Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur Air Base in Syria's Idlib city.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel's attack on Syria.
In a statement, the ministry said the attacks constituted a "clear violation" of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and were contrary to international law and the provisions of the United Nations Charter.
The statement said Israel's continued violations of the sovereignty of countries in the region demonstrated "a dangerous approach aimed at imposing a fait accompli through the use of force," stressing that the international community must fulfill its responsibilities to put an end to Israel's violations.
The statement warned that the absence of accountability and deterrence encouraged Israel to continue its violations, threatening the security and stability of the region and potentially leading to a broader cycle of escalation.
The statement said Qatar would continue to stand by the Syrian Arab Republic, maintain its solidarity with the Syrian government and support all initiatives aimed at protecting the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
