Rangel: MED9 is a key platform for political coordination in the Mediterranean
Dubrovnik, June 27 (Hibya) – Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel highlighted the importance of joint coordination on energy, migration, and maritime security in the Mediterranean during the MED9 meeting held in Dubrovnik.

The meeting addressed common challenges facing the Mediterranean region, emphasizing that the MED9 platform is an essential mechanism for political coordination within the European Union.
Rangel said the discussions focused in particular on energy interconnections, freedom of navigation, migration policies, and relations with Africa and the Middle East.
The statement also noted that security and stability in critical maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea were among the issues discussed.
