Russia and Ukraine make mutual temporary ceasefire decision on the occasion of Orthodox Easter
Moscow, April 11 (Hibya) - The Orthodox Easter ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin entered into force on Saturday afternoon.
According to CCTV, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov were instructed to halt combat operations on all front lines during the designated period.
The Kremlin stated that during this step, which was welcomed by the Russian Orthodox Church, the troops would remain prepared against possible provocations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that the Kyiv administration would comply with the ceasefire decision in question.
Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova said that this temporary pause would increase humanitarian efforts aimed at evacuating the wounded and searching for missing persons.
