Stubb: Patrol vessel Turva took part in sabotage investigations
Helsinki, March 26 (Hibya) - Finnish President Alexander Stubb visited the offshore patrol vessel “Turva,” belonging to the Border Guard, and received information about efforts against suspected sabotage attempts targeting underwater infrastructure in recent years.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb, together with his delegation, conducted inspections aboard the patrol vessel Turva, which plays a critical role in the country’s maritime border security.
Stubb stated that during the visit, a briefing was given on maritime security and border control, saying: “Together with my colleagues, we visited the Border Guard’s offshore patrol vessel Turva and listened to a presentation on maritime border patrol operations.”
Drawing attention to increasing security risks to underwater lines, President Stubb added: “The patrol vessel Turva has taken part in investigations into suspected sabotage incidents targeting critical underwater infrastructure in recent years.”
