Tsahkna: Putin's visit is an attempt to normalize illegal occupation
Tallinn, August 14 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Iturup Island. Tsahkna argued that the visit was an attempt to normalize illegal occupation and escalate tensions.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Iturup Island, which Japan considers part of its Northern Territories and which Tsahkna described as being occupied by Russia.
Tsahkna said the visit was an attempt to normalize illegal occupation and escalate tensions.
Stating that Russia's disregard for international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity was not limited to Ukraine, Tsahkna noted that the security of Europe and the Indo-Pacific was interconnected.
Tsahkna said Estonia stands with Japan.
