Zakharova: We strongly condemn any damage to religious sites
Moscow, April 3 (Hibya) - Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova condemned the severe damage to an Orthodox cathedral in Tehran caused by an airstrike carried out by the United States and Israel.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova made a statement regarding the attack and the damage inflicted on the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Tehran.
Speaking about the attack, Zakharova said: “We were shocked by reports of serious damage to the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Tehran as a result of another barbaric airstrike carried out by the US-Israel duo.”
Drawing attention to the international community’s sensitivity regarding the protection of sacred sites, Zakharova concluded her statement with the following words:
“We strongly condemn any damage to religious sites.”
