Zelensky assesses Japan's new sanctions against Russia
Kyiv, October 2 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the Japanese government's decision to impose additional sanctions on Russia and expand export restrictions.
Ukrainian President Zelensky issued a statement on the Japanese government's decision to impose additional sanctions on Russia and expand export restrictions.
In a statement on his social media account, Zelensky said he welcomed Japan's decision to impose additional sanctions, particularly against Russia's shadow fleet.
Zelensky said the individuals and companies subject to sanctions posed a common threat not only to Ukraine but also to countries in Europe and across the Pacific region. He argued that these individuals and companies were operating to support Russia's war machine.
Zelensky described the adoption of the sanctions package as a necessary step at a time when drone and missile attacks against Ukraine are increasing ahead of winter. Zelensky thanked Japan for its support and leadership.
