Zelensky: We discussed the peace process and the course of the war with Trump
Kyiv, June 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that during his conversation with United States (US) President Donald Trump, the end of the war, developments on the frontline, and prospects for peace were discussed.
Zelensky made a statement regarding his telephone conversation with Trump.
Zelensky said that he congratulated Trump on his birthday and noted that issues related to ending the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed in detail. He added that he thanked the United States for its support of Ukraine, stating that this support has extended from Javelin systems to Patriot air defense systems.
During the conversation, information was shared about the current course of the war and the latest situation on the frontline, and assessments were made regarding Ukraine's position on the battlefield. In addition, possible steps that could accelerate the peace process were discussed.
Zelensky stated that the matter would be reviewed more comprehensively during a meeting to be held within the framework of the G7 Summit, adding that several ideas that could contribute to peace were brought forward.
