Berendsen: The Netherlands supports the International Criminal Court
Amsterdam, September 7 (Hibya) - Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen announced that they held a productive meeting with the Netherlands Bar Association (Advocatenorde) on the importance of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the independence of lawyers.
Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen commented on his meeting with representatives of the Netherlands Bar Association, emphasizing legal proceedings and the independence of the defence.
Explaining the content and importance of the meeting, Berendsen said, "They need to be able to carry out their important work without obstruction. It is useful to exchange views on this issue."
Referring to the Netherlands' commitment to international legal institutions, Berendsen said, "The Netherlands supports the Court."
