Lula da Silva: It is important to prioritize women's healthcare services
Rio de Janeiro, July 17 (Hibya) - Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited one of the Women's Health Mobile Units in Rio de Janeiro, which provides services such as mammography, gynecological examinations, and ultrasound.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized the importance of prioritizing women's healthcare services, stating that these mobile units focus on disease prevention and early diagnosis.
Sharing operational data and expansion targets for the mobile health units across the country, Lula da Silva said, "The focus is on prevention and early diagnosis. There are currently 92 of these units operating nationwide. We expect that number to reach 150 by the end of the year."
Referring to the reach of the free services provided through Brazil's Unified Health System (SUS), Lula da Silva stated, "The mobile units have already reached more than 3,000 municipalities and have provided over 600,000 free healthcare services through SUS (Brazil's Unified Health System)."
Highlighting the importance attached to women's health, Lula da Silva said, "It is extremely important to prioritize women's healthcare services because women make up the vast majority of our population."
