Croatia's Foreign Ministry announced that a new air connection between Beijing and Zagreb will begin operating.

According to a statement from the ministry, Air China will operate three flights a week on the Beijing-Bucharest-Zagreb route starting September 4.

The new air connection is expected to contribute to the development of tourism, economic, trade, investment, cultural and people-to-people relations between Croatia and China.

The statement noted that more than 330,000 Chinese tourists visited Croatia in 2025, adding that the new route will make it easier for Chinese visitors to travel to Croatia and to other countries in Southeast Europe.

The statement also said the new route is important for the Croatian business community, as it will create additional opportunities to introduce Croatian products such as cheese, tuna, olive oil and wine to the Chinese market.
