Pakistan government and Jamaat-e-Islami hold talks on fuel prices
Islamabad, November 3 (Hibya) – Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with a delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) to discuss petroleum prices in the country. The meeting, attended by a delegation led by Liaquat Baloch, addressed measures aimed at easing the economic burden on citizens.
The meeting focused particularly on providing support to low-income citizens and developing practical measures to provide relief to the public regarding energy prices. The two sides agreed to continue consultations in the coming days to establish a roadmap for energy pricing and reducing the economic burden on the population.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar reaffirmed the government's commitment to prioritizing public welfare and supporting citizens amid global economic challenges. Emphasizing the importance of dialogue between political parties in addressing national economic issues, Dar hosted the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the Prime Minister's Adviser on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Special Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum.
