Brasilia, April 10 (Hibya) - Brazil and the United States (US) signed a new cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the fight against international smuggling between revenue administrations and customs units.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced the implementation of a new cooperation agreement between Brazil and the United States to strengthen the fight against international drug and arms trafficking.
Under the agreement, data sharing, cargo tracking, and the development of joint operational mechanisms between Brazil’s Revenue Administration and US customs units are envisaged.
Officials stated that the arrangement aims to enable faster detection of suspicious cargo through real-time data flow and more coordinated responses against illegal shipments.
It was noted that the cooperation seeks to enhance inter-agency coordination in combating cross-border crimes and contribute to international security efforts.
