During the conversation, the latest developments in the Middle East were evaluated. Tajani emphasized the importance of protecting infrastructure to prevent an energy crisis, ensuring freedom of navigation and maintaining maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

Tajani reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to reducing tensions and announced that his country would support a draft resolution to be presented by the Gulf Cooperation Council at the United Nations Security Council condemning Iran’s attacks on Gulf countries.
